Andres Garcia (Fill)

Andrés García was born on July 21, 1988 in Puerto Madryn, Argentina. In 2007 he moved to the city of Buenos Aires where he began to make his first compositions with field recordings, processed radio and television, guitar and synthesizers.

 

In 2015 he co-founded the CAS collective, a group of experimental music, sound art and expanded video of Latin America, which also functions as a record label.

 

During 2016 he began publishing his compositions under the pseudonym Fill, using in his creations analog, acoustic and digital resources, having as a workstation a 4-channel cassette portastudio.

 

He made presentations in different cities of Argentina and Brazil, as well as sound interventions in public spaces, art galleries and fairs. He has collaborated with sound, graphic, plastic and dance artists from different Latin American countries. Since 2018 he works with various visual artists and has made sound collaborations for works presented in Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Japan. In 2019 the work “Bleu” was selected for the Itaú prize for Visual Arts, which was on exhibition at the Casa del Bicentenario of Buenos Aires.

 

Currently he has published 2 albums, 3 EPs and 2 singles in addition to individual conceptual pieces. His latest work Bön, consists in an interdisciplinary project that combines algorithmic image processing, a graphic desing work, texts, performances and a 23-minute sound piece created with Tibetan singing bowls, ms20 synthesizer and field recordings.
