Las Olas
LA BANDA PRECURSORA DEL POST-SURF
Las Olas es un proyecto de música instrumental que nace en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, en el año 2015. Fusiona la tradicional música surf con influencias que van desde bandas como The Ventures, The Residents, The B-52's, hasta obras que exceden lo musical llevándolo a lo desarrollado por autores de otras índoles (Borges, los hermanos Coen, Groucho Marx).
Con tan solo un par de presentaciones en vivo, un sello independiente se interesa en el proyecto y les ofrece grabar lo que es su primer LP titulado de forma homónima. El disco logra tener muy buena recepción a nivel local y en el plano internacional,y suena hasta en radios de EE. UU. y Holanda, y cuya portada es además elegida como una de las mejores de 2015 según la Radio Storm Surge Of Reverb (Nueva Orleans). Una de las canciones del disco es también escogida para ser la sintonía principal en el programa “La Mar En Coche” (FM La Tribu).
En el año 2017 lanzan su segundo LP titulado “Psicodelia Neanderthal Vol. 1” que abre la puerta hacia una exploración de diversos géneros y subgéneros como el post-punk, mambo y rockabilly entre otros con agregados de múltiples instrumentos, como piano, percusión, sintetizadores, y hasta un theremin, que genera definitivamente un estilo único.
Ambos discos son presentados en varios lugares como Ciudad Cultural Konex, Club Plasma, Niceto Club, hasta alcanzar más de 70 shows en vivo hasta hoy.
El año 2018 y el 2019 los encuentra grabando su tercer disco de estudio, que marca un gran salto de calidad y crecimiento a nivel sonoro y compositivo que lo transforma en una obra de culto inédita.
En este momento el único músico de Las Olas que se encuentra en activo es el compositor, Momo Zamana. Aquí pueden encontrar más novedades al respecto.
THE FORERUNNER BAND OF POST-SURF
Las Olas is an instrumental music project that was born in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2015. It fuses traditional surf music with influences ranging from bands like The Ventures, The Residents, The B-52's, to works that they exceed the musical, taking it to what was developed by authors of other disciplines (Borges, the Coen brothers, Groucho Marx).
With only a couple of live performances, an independent label is interested in the project and offers Las Olas to record what is their first LP titled by the same name. The album manages to have a very good reception locally and internationally, and even plays on radio stations in the US and the Netherlands, and whose cover is also chosen as one of the best of 2015 according to Radio Storm Surge Of Reverb ( New Orleans). One of the songs on the album is also chosen to be the main tune in the program "La Mar En Coche" (FM La Tribu).
In 2017 they released their second LP entitled "Psicodelia Neanderthal Vol. 1" which opens the door to an exploration of various genres and subgenres such as post-punk, mambo and rockabilly among others with additions of multiple instruments, such as piano, percussion, synthesizers, and even a theremin, which definitely generates a unique style.
Both albums are presented in various places such as Ciudad Cultural Konex, Club Plasma, Niceto Club, reaching more than 70 live shows to date.
The year 2018 and 2019 finds them recording their third studio album, which marks a great leap in quality and growth at the sound and compositional level that transforms it into an unprecedented cult work.
