Jeff Gburek

Jeff Gburek is a music creator, field recordist & poet, born in the USA, currently residing in Poland. Travel and research in the fields of ethnomusicology, environmentalism and movement studies have framed his creative output and experimentation. While in Indonesia he studied gamelan music, trance dance and animist agricultural traditions. For a brief time in Japan, he visited Kazuo Ohno and Min Tanaka to learn about body and place, silence and concentration. He worked with Djalma Primordial Science, toured cross-country USA two times before becoming based in Berlin, Germany in 2005 and performed in various projects & festivals throughout Europe until the present moment. 
Among his collaborators are Ephia Gburek, Neel Murgai, Tetuzi Akiyama, Keith Rowe, John Tilbury, Eddie Prevost, Lucio Capece, Michael Vorfeld, Rafal Iwanski, Hubert Winczyk, Michal Gyżicki, Tomek Choloniewski, Martyna Poznanska, Raven Chacon, Bob Bellerue, Marjorie Van Halteren, Ilaria Boffa, RinusVan Alebeek, Kyle Bruckmann, Annette Krebs, Pascal Battus, Ana Kavalis, Yuko Kaseki, Orphan Sound System, George Christian, Filippo Panichi & others.

Jeff Gburek es un creador musical, grabador de campo y poeta, nacido en los EUA y que actualmente reside en Polonia. El viaje y la búsqueda en los ámbitos de la etnomusicología, el medio ambiente y los estudios del movimiento han perfilado su proceso creativo y su experimentación. En su estancia en Indonesia estudió música gamelan, danza de trance y tradiciones agricultoras animistas. Durante un breve tiempo en Japón visitó a Kazuo Ohno y Min Tanaka para instruirse acerca del cuerpo y el espacio, el silencio y la concentración.
Trabajó con Djalma Primordial Science, giró atravesando los Estados Unidos en dos ocasiones antes de instalarse en Berlín, Alemania en 2005 y actuó en varios proyectos y festivales por toda Europa hasta la actualidad.
