Sound collective with multiple members who come from different areas of cultural and artistic action.

Their search starts from acting as sound operators, hence the name of the collective, practicing more as sonic workers than musicians. .

 

Although the results generated can be musical at times and can be included within improvisation, concrete music, ambient and even incidental music, the priority of the search itself is not what the group means.

 

With their first manifestations as a trio at the end of 2019, formed by Martin Sandoval (MRS), Juan Sottocorno (Faraday Brancusi) and Andrés Toro (Zulu Souvenir), they have made different live performances, of which one of them -in the studio recording of the "Montacargas" - has been recorded and released as an album by the label "No Me Escucho Records".

 

In the context of pandemic -and due to other factors- Robotas is reformulated as a duo (Sottocorno, Toro) performing at the beginning of this year a live streaming for Radio CASo (Sound Art Center based at the CNB), and some home recordings that derive in the works published by HAMFUGGI Records.

 

For its next presentation that will take place during the second half of 2021, operator members are incorporated, expanding not only the sonic palette but also the collective conceptual background of the formation. .
